IS THIS POSSIBLE? USE B1,B2... FOR BY FIELD NUMBER INSTEAD OF TYPING THE FIELD NAME.

ON B1 SUBTOTAL AS '*TOTAL'

Moreover, I am not so sure, whether the FILED NUMBER can directly be accessed as of FIELD NAMEs..

But one simple Idea(might suit you) is to assign an &VARIABLE with FIELD NUMBERs for various FIELD NAMEs and use those &VARs on the SUBTOTAL's ONs....

Thanks,

Ramkumar.

Strange idea, but i you give your fields an alias that is from B01 to...B... you can use that.

I would not do this, since it is not very descriptive and when you use the GUI it is much more easy

Joe, But what is the purpose for you to do this ? Are the column names going to be dynamic, i.e, Is it going to change on every run ?

Thanks,

Ramkumar.
