I have searched the documentation for 8.1.05M for the past few hours, and I must be overlooking the obvious solution(s)/answer(s).

My challenge is this: I want to change the default NODATA character from a period to a dash without having to set it in every single fex file. My colleague did this in 8.0.09. So none of our files had the SET NODATA = - line. The NODATA character was set somewhere behind the scenes.

I'm trying to find the same in 8.1.05M. I thought I found something about changing the adapter settings in the AdminConsole, but I didn't seem to be able to find the setting mentioned in the documentation.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'll keep searching the forum and documentation. I'm thinking it might have something to do with missing values.

Either from :
1- WebFocus Client/Administration Console/Client Settings/General : _site_profile
2- WebFocus Client/Administration Console/Client Settings/General : _universal_profile
3- RS Console / Workspace / Configuration Files : User/group Profiles

Any of these places can include SET or called .fex that will perform the SET command as global setting.


WF versions : Prod 8.2.04M gen 33, Dev 8.2.04M gen 33, OS : Windows, DB : MSSQL, Outputs : HTML, Excel, PDF

You can also set it in the edasprof.prf file:

Reporting Server Console > Workspace > Configuration Files > Server Profile - edasprof.prf

Thank you both!

I found all of the settings you mentioned, and the settings led me to the exact spot the NODATA was set in the current 8.0 environment.

That, in turn, helped me determine the best place for us to set it going forward.

Thank you both for your expertise and the time you took out of your busy schedules to answer my question.
