Hello,

I am trying to design my report using the Composer tool and I have some static text to be displayed on the report.

My question is, can we insert a conditional text in the text area ? For example: My text is some address that I want to display on the report, but it changes depending on what the user inputs in the prompt.

In a regular report I can introduce IF THEN ELSE logic with GOTO label to print desired text based on user input from parameter - can I do same here within a static text area?

Thanks

I know that you may found the answer stupid, but have you tried it yourself in anyway before asking ?

Have you tried to define a parameter that will be included in text area as the text to be displayed ?

Do you need text area or can it just be included as header/footer in the report itself ?

Well my difficulty is to conditionally display that text:

For example: If the user inputs ABC, then display Address_ABC Else display Address_XYZ

How do I include this IF, ELSE logic in a text area in composer?

From where does these Address_ABC and Address_XYZ come from ?

What is the purpose of displaying the address as in a text area when it could be part of report's data but displayed only in header/footer ?

Text area can only display a static type in text or from a parameter (previously assigned) that will be used as &TXT.EVAL in the text area.
Otherwise "dynamic" text display must become a report by itself that will be included in the compound layout.

You need to first defined your needs to then properly perform proper action to resolved them.
