I am using a read/write grid with around 15 columns being displayed.
I need to display four of these columns(Region, Market, Site, WorkType) as dynamic chained drop downs. Region>market>Site>Worktype is the sequence of dependency
I use different fex files to populate these drop downs dynamically.
Can you please suggest the events that I should use to change drop downs?

As of now I am using OnEditFinish to do field level validation.
OnRowChange event is used for populating one drop down(region).

What all event do I use to populate the other drop downs?
Example I select a value from region dropdown and market drop down gets populated. I select from market, site gets populated. Select site, Worktype gets populated.
Any sample would be helpful.

Thanks,
Nasar

Is it necessary that all this be done in a grid? Is the user going to be changing multiple rows of data at a time? If not, could they select a row, make selections from multiple drop boxes, and then display the new record in the grid?

The issue with the drop downs in the grid is, the only way to populate the second drop down based on the selection from the first drop down is to return to the server, load the stack and refresh the form. When we do that, the other combo boxes will refresh back to the top.

If you MUST use a grid, and make sure it is the JS grid, you could create an onChange event on the drop down boxes that will pass the selection back to Maintain and load up the next drop box. If it is at all possible NOT to use a grid then your coding will be a lot easier.

Ok
Using the new JS Grid and the combobox option for each cell, I was able to create a demo to do this. When a user makes a selection from a drop down, a case is triggered that loads up a stack based on the selected value. Those stack values are computed into an array, and that array populates the next drop down box, etc.

The only issue with doing this is that the form is going to refresh every time you return to the server to load up the next box. I am not going to post the code. If anyone is interested I will send it to you.
