does any one know what mechinism is used to pass the email from web focus to an exchange server. the reason I ask is when an email is set to send to outside my domain of the reply to is not within the domain the email is not sent. so how does WF send the email to the exchange server

This problem we had, solution was settings on MS exchange, not sure those settings need to be change.

Kofi may be right, WF does nothing special for whatever kind of email. It just sends it using standard smtp calls to port 25 of the specified mail server address. If some email do not reach the destination but other emails do, then there must a setting on the exchange side that provokes this. WF does not do anything different for emails within or out of your domain.
