I'm a complete Web Focus newbie and I am trying to configure an adapter to connect to a remote db2 instance. So far it's setup as follows:

Connection Name:
URL: jdbc:db2://redacted:50010/dbname
User: user
Password: password

Environment:
Classpath = /opt/db2
LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /opt/ibi/srv76/home7611/bin:/lib:/usr/lib

/opt/db2 contains only the following files:
db2jcc.jar db2jcc_license_cu.jar

When I test the connection it fails, displaying the following error message:

(FOC1400) SQLCODE IS -1 (HEX: FFFFFFFF) XOPEN: 00000
: ERROR: ncjInit failed. fail to connect to java server: JSS
(FOC1405) SQL PREPARE ERROR.

Looking at the log file, I can see that the server is inexplicably attempting to connect to localhost:

11/18/2011 13:43:47 error: failed to connect to 127.0.0.1:8123, 111 Connection refused
11/18/2011 13:43:47 (FOC1479) ERROR CONNECTING TO SQL DATABASE JDBC: NTC2J DLL LOAD FAIL OR
11/18/2011 13:43:47 ncjInit() FAILURE OCCURRED

Shouldn't it be attempting to connect to redacted on port 50010, and not localhost on 8123?

Thanks,
Dave
