Hallo!

I've found a very strange thing - I can't use EXCL2K PIVOT with MSOLAP datasources.

I have a MSOLAP cube (MS Analysis Services 2K).
I can create synonym with dimensions and measures (using option "Inclusion Of System-Enabled Hierarchies")
I can create reports from this cube in every format except EXCL2K PIVOT.

In documentation:

1."Creating Reports With WebFOCUS Language > Choosing a Display Format > Using Excel Display Formats: Excel 2000, Excel 97, Excel"
I found that at least one field must be PRINT for EXCL2K PIVOT

But in :

2. "Adapter Administration for UNIX, Windows, OpenVMS, i5/OS, and z/OS V7.6.1 > Using the Adapter for Microsoft Analysis Services > Customizing the Microsoft Analysis Services Environment"

I found that I can't PRINT measures, I always must use SUM verb.
((FOC11243) PRINT VERB SHOULD NOT BE USED ON MEASURE ... WITH AGGREGATOR SUM)

And I can't PRINT dimensions
(FOC3256) EXL2K PIVOT TABLE: MULTIVERB REQUEST IS ILLEGAL)

So, is it possible to use EXCL2K PIVOT with MSOLAP?

Thanks in advance!

Can you do it in two steps, first put is in a hold file and then create the final report to put in the pivot.

Thanks, Frank

Yes it can be done through HOLD files, but only for small cubes.
It means sending thousands and million lines to Excel - not good.
