I am working on a Launch Page in WF8, I have a Double list Control on which, i have a JS Validation in Place that on the click of the 'SUBMIT' if the CustomSelect_TO box is empty, there should be an alert that 'this cannot be empty' and At the sametime onlick function Returns False and should stop the execution.

However when i click the button, the JS alert invokes but still it submits the FEX file task/request assigned to the button.

Could you guys please advise? How would i stop the button from submitting the FEX?

You must have something such as this in your js
function RUN_BTN_onclick(ctrl) {

	if ([condition])
	{
		alert("Error");
		return false;
	}

	OnExecute(ctrl);
}

Where [condition] is your condition to evaluate

See this:

[SOLVED] Date validation and stop processing

In particular, look at subbu_088's solution, because apparently my suggestion does not work in all cases.

Thank You Guys, The solution to told me is actually what i had implemented however things in Webfocus 8 work differently,

function RUN_BTN_onclick(ctrl) {

if ([condition])
{
alert("Error");
return false;
}
IbComposer_triggerExecution("task5", 1);
}

This is what we have to write to make the Buttons Work in WF8. Where Task is latched with a Request to an FEX Procedure which is supposed to be called at the button click.
