I need to create some OLAP reports. I have looked at the tutorial, but its not very helpful.

Does anyone know where can I get real knowledge of building these kind of reports?

Thanks

You basically need to do 2 things. Add dimensions to your master file using the WITHIN clause. You can use the Dimension builder in Dev Studio. Then just create a report and turn on OLAP from the Report/Options menu.

I have already tried that, but when I run the report and try clicking on any of the dimensions to change their values, I get "page not found" message.

Would someone please help !!!!!

Here are some links that will help you:

-First, I would suggest going to our documention library and searching by topic, i.e., OLAP. Under that topic alone, 111 results were found including, e.g., "OLAP" and "Three Ways of Working With OLAP Data". You should find a lot of helpful information here.

-Second, you said you watched the "tutorial" and did not find it helpful. I am not sure which one you watched - did you see Query and Analysis in Action? or did you visit the OLAP Page? Alternatively, there is a short tutorial on using Dimension Builder from the Focal Point home page.

-If you are still having problems, I would suggest that you contact Tech Support as they will be able to help you quickly.
We recommend contacting our support personnel on issues that require more detail on your installed products, versions, and configuration.

And OF COURSE we care. This is a place where developers help developers so I try to give it a few days before I step in as Moderator. I hope my links will help you. And, again, if you're still having problems, the folks at Tech Support can help you out right away.

Thanks for participating in the forum.
