I need to align heading text with column titles. The top line of the column titles is a sequential letter. The heading text contains simple formulas that can be used to verify the accuracy of the column totals. The formulas in the heading text should span pairs of columns, as illustrated below:

A         B + C = A             D + E = A             F + G = C             H + I = B
A      B             C       D             E       F             G       H             I

How can the heading text be positioned this way?

Thank you,

John

What is the format of the output? If it's HTML or Excel you can setup the 1st line (A ... B + C = A ... D + E = A) as a HEADING line and use the COLSPAN on the OBJECTs while the 2nd line (A B C D E F) is the actual TITLE for the associated COLUMN with the desired JUSTIFY=xxx.

The format is HTML.

Can you give me an example of the syntax, please?

Thank you,

John

That page just shows a screen shot of the output, which is the type of formatting I'm looking for. Where can I find the source for the heading and column title formatting?

Here's the code behind that image:

One way is to use the HEADING as:
"<0>CEDED<0>CEDED<0>CEDED<0>PROFIT<0>L/R<0>L/R<0>COMB<0>UNDRWRITING"

Then style and align is as desired, like this for HTML:
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, SIZE=6, FONT=COURIER,JUSTIFY=CENTER,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=2, COLSPAN=2,$ CEDED WP
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=3, COLSPAN=1,$ CEDED EP
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=4, COLSPAN=1,$ CEDED CC%
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=5, COLSPAN=1,$ PC %
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=6, COLSPAN=3,$ L/R 1
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=7, COLSPAN=3,$ L/R 2
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=8, COLSPAN=2,$ COMB
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=9, COLSPAN=2,$ UW

Then style and align is as desired, like this for PDF:
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, SIZE=6, FONT=COURIER,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=1, POSITION=1.90,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=2, POSITION=2.80,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=3, POSITION=3.41,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=4, POSITION=3.90,$
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=5, POSITION=5.25,$ L/R 1
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=6, POSITION=7.15,$ L/R 2
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=7, POSITION=8.85,$ COMB
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=8, ITEM=8, POSITION=9.75,$ UW

The text to the right of the ,$ is informational only / to jkeep track of the fields and for readibility.
