[SOLVED] Relation between &ECHO and number of columns being shown on an excel output?

I have an HTML report which fetches huge loads of data. Also there is an option of exporting the data to excel. For one particular scenario, though the HTML version was displaying the expected data, the excel was omitting the first two columns. Strangely, when we set &ECHO to OFF,(initially it was defaulted to ON) the excel version was working properly. How can I relate the &ECHO variable to miss/display of a column on the excel ?
Also, what is the limitation on the number of records that can be shown on an excel output ?

I never heard of any relation between the echo=on/off and displaying more or less columns.
the ECHO function is only for debugging, once you have set it to ON the execution of the fex shows you all the intermediate values, temporary result etc.
The second part of your question is mainly depending on the version of excel and the memory capacity of your PC.
