David Briars[Case Opened] ReportCaster - Unable to Connect to Host Port.
We've been using ReportCaster to email out WebFOCUS reports for several years now.
Sporadically, for the last few weeks or so, our morning runs have obtained the following error message, as seen in the log file:
Unable to connect to EMAIL.x.y retry in 60 seconds.
The distribution failed: Couldn't connect to host, port: EMAIL.x.y, 25; timeout 300000
Our network team, isn't able to find any issues with the email host at the time of the run.
Anyone have any ideas of what we can check, or have you encountered this error previously?

WazWell, as its related to connecting to an SMTP server ?? it looks like a comms issue.
No one was p[laying silly buggers with the network or SMTP server ?

I saw you opened a case, hopefully the trace they asked you to set will help resolve this.
