Hi,

In one of my webfocus fex file, it is executing a stored procedure as below.

SQL EX SP_RPT '&ETD_FROM','&ETD_TO','&ETA_FROM','&ETA_TO';

I have to pass last month start date, end date as parameters to ETD_FROM, ETD_TO values above and ETA_FROM, ETA_TO as null. i have a oracle query below, but not sure how to set thse values as ETD_FROM, ETD_TO in webfocus. can you please help me.

select trunc(trunc(sysdate,'MM')-1,'MM') "First Day of Last Month",trunc(sysdate,'MM')-1 "Last Day of Last Month" from dual

Use date functions DATEADD and DATEMOV (and you must use date function DATECVT when using date functions in Dialogue Manager -SET commands - convert a text string to a date, perform date function, convert back to string):

-* Determine date last month
-SET &DT_LM = DATECVT( DATEADD(DATECVT(&YYMD,'I8YYMD','YYMD'),'M', -1), 'YYMD','I8YYMD');

-* Determine Beginning of Month for selected date
-SET &BOLM =
- DATECVT(( DATEMOV((DATECVT(&DT_LM,'I8YYMD','YYMD')),'BOM')),
- 'YYMD','I8YYMD');

-* Determine End of Month for selected date
-SET &EOLM =
- DATECVT(( DATEMOV((DATECVT(&DT_LM,'I8YYMD','YYMD')),'EOM')),
- 'YYMD','I8YYMD');


-TYPE &YYMD / &DT_LM / &BOLM / &EOLM

Hi Francis,

Thanks for the reply.

can you please let me know how to take the last month start date (ETD_FROM), end date (ETD_TO) values in mm/dd/yyyy format and how to set them DEFAULT. so everytime it calculates last month start, end date values and pass it to SP_RPT.

Maybe you should first try the answer Francis gave you, and investigate some time to understand what he showed.
In the manuals is a lot to find about date formulas.
We can give you all the answers, bit as the Chinese saying says, "give a man a fish and he can eat today, but teach him fishing and he can feed his family for months"
We prefer to teach and not just give the answers.
