Can any one suggest me how to populate a list box with the results of a fex on click of a button both these controls are in a HTML form

This is the second time you asked this question. Do the leg work and search this forums history! There are a bunch of examples of doing this.

Use this as a start, and move the ajax call to it's own function. Add your input box, and pass it as a parameter in the request, and change the fex to use that parameter.
