Hi..
Can i use new jquery libraries in wf.
Can i replace the existing old jquery version with WF.
I want to implement some scroll bar for a panel in my HTMl canvas and i tried to reference it using settings tab but it is not working.
i am getting "Uncaught reference error $ not defined".Is there any workaround?
I dunno why there is not solution for this.Nobody has encpuntered this issue?
I saw using jquery inside fex in HTML FORM BEGIN and END tags but how can i use/reference new jquery version/libraries in HTML composer/GUI.

This might be just me, but unless this is a show stopper, less customization is always the better choice. Even if you could do this, the effort in maintenance and the risk of upward compatibility in the future doesn't seem justified with the benefit you gain from what appears to be a cosmetic effect.

I'm sorry, but I am compelled to comment on this opinion.

This sounds like you believe that GUI generated files are more "upwardly compatible" than hand-coded ones. I beg to differ. From my experience upgrading GUI HTML files from v7.7.05 to v8.0.08, I can say it was not a pleasant experience. I wonder what happens when upgrading from v8.0.08 to v8.2.*...

Not at all. There are plenty of times GUI just can't do the type of things you can accomplish in Dialogue Manager and FOCUS language. All I'm saying is just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. Adding jquery to the code might be a fun exercise but will it really make that big a difference in the final presentation? Maybe it's the most important specification to the app in which case, then you have to make it work. But if the cost of coding, maintenance and the risk that some day it won't work because of an architectural change in the product is higher than making the app look a certain way, I'd choose out of the box functionality. And by out of the box functionality I don't mean just GUI.

Then why does Information Builders keep talking about "animations"?

I'm only speaking about app dev functionality. There are a lot of features available that go far beyond the out of the box functionality and I'm kinda happy they're there in case one of them meets a requirement that'll make or break an application. Ultimately, the benefit has to out weigh the cost. In this particular example, I'm not sure it does. If I'm wrong and this feature is an absolute must have, then I'm delighted jquery integration is an option.
