Greetings,

Running the following code:

DYNAM ALLOC DD CAR DS UID.FOCUS.CAR SHR REUSE
-RUN
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT CAR
RCOST
AND COMPUTE
NEW_COST/D8S = IF CAR EQ 'BMW' THEN 0 ELSE RCOST;
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXCEL
END

Yields:
CAR RETAIL_COST NEW_COST
ALFA ROMEO 5,925 5,925
BMW 5,940 0[/code]I want to show a blank and not a zero (0) for BMW NEW_COST. (My using 'S' option, in the format for NEW_COST was an attempt at doing this.)

(I am viewing the report MS Excel 97).

How can I change my code to show a blank and not a zero for BMW?

Thank you for your consideration.

Regards,
Dave

Dave,

I am using WebFOCUS 5.3 on Windows and Excel 2000, so I am not sure if it works on the mainframe FOCUS and EXL97, but you could try this:

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT CAR
RCOST
AND
COMPUTE NEW_COST/D8S MISSING ON = IF CAR EQ 'BMW' THEN MISSING ELSE RCOST;
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXCEL
END

Regards
Grzegorz

Greetings Focal Point,

IB Technical Support gave me a solution.

Here it is:

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT CAR
RCOST
AND COMPUTE
NEW_COST/A15 = IF CAR EQ 'BMW' THEN ' ' ELSE
FTOA(RCOST, '(D8S)', NEW_COST);
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXCEL
END[/code]Thanks all, for your consideration.

Regards,
Dave
