Sort on the field on which you want the output to be split and then use BYTOC. Look it up in the manual.

Gobinath,

Only if you offer to do all my work for me Wink alternatively, pay me to train your coders including expenses Razzer

If you check the syntax in the manual then you will understand it better. If you have Dev Studio then use the help file, click the "index" tab and search on BYTOC. It will give you enough information to be able to build the code and understand it.

Hi Tony

For this method is based on the By (sorting field ) the next sheet is created.

But i want to split the sheet based on the lines. If the lines exceeds the 64K
then i have to go to next sheet .

Is it ppossible ?

Try this

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT CAR COUNTRY MODEL
COMPUTE COUNTER/I7=COUNTER + 1; NOPRINT
COMPUTE WORKSHEET/I3=COUNTER/65000; NOPRINT
BY TOTAL WORKSHEET NOPRINT
BY COUNTRY NOPRINT
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K BYTOC
END

Note: This solution I got it from this forum long back and it works good.

Hope this helps,

Kamesh

Create a dummy field to sort on and count lines in a DEFINE. If it is less than the split lines number, make it 1 else 2. Then use that field noprinted to do the BYTOC.

It's a shame we have to spoon feed some folks, as with a little bit of thought anyone "worth their salt" should have been able to work that out with my initial reply Frowner
