Hai all..

I am trying for a recursive join on something similar to following example..

Parent Child
A B
C D
B E
F E
A F

I need to form a tree like structure showing each parent with its children and grand children if any..I know I need to use recursive join but I never worked on it and I am doing my research. My deadline was over. Please help me with some examples.

Thanks for suggestions..

Use the search funrtion top right and search on "recursive tag" in WebFOCUS forum - the second post should tell you what you need.

Most questions regarding methodology can be answered using search as they have probably been asked many times before (as in this case).

The older the functionality that you require it is more likely that has been asked before - so please think about doing a search first. Not only might it save you time, it might allow you to meet your deadlines.

Tech support also has techniques on recursive joins http://techsupport.information...cof/cof_tcn_021.html

I hope these examples help rather than confuse.

Thanks Rhonda.

I have gone through the links but they give me parent level relation only upto 1 level which can be generated in normal way. I am looking for 2 or 3 levels.

Thanks

You have to add a join for each level that you want. Make sure that you use the TAG syntax so that you can uniquely identify each level.
