We just finished up installing 768 Client on Unix. Maybe I can help. We have Report Caster install on Windows.

The one thing that I had an issue with Report Caster is using the Utility to migrate from 714 to 768. It ended up corrupting my 714 environments everytime I did my migration. When you tried to edit the dserver.xml file, it came up with an error. Had to restore the entire Report Caster directory on my 714 environments.

I noticed that someone else had this same issue and posted up here.

We also installed it on our NT server and it can't find my UNIX server. I went over the settings with Tech Support and everything "looks" right. Let me know if you find a solution.

susannah,

For testing/evaluation purposes I run it on a Linux VMware image using Apache 2.0 and Tomcat 6.

You can not access the caster java app (/rcaster/main/reportcaster.jsp) when you are in the Linux environment
Using Firefox (3.0.4) you just keep getting authentication errors.

From the windows client it does not work with IE8.
but it does work with windows Firefox (3.0.6) and IE6 and 7.

What specific problems are you having?
