I'm creating a report using the PDF layout painter. This is a wide report. I build a new report while inside the pdf painter and selected the output to appear in the Landscape format, produced the report and everything is fine. Closed the pdf painter (to create additional reports that will be imported). But wanted to ensure that my previously created report maintained it's format (landscape)...when I open the pdf painter it opens in a portrait view...thus cutting off the right side of my report. if I just run my created report it is correct however the right side is cut off. how do I tell pdf painter to open up in portrait view?

please upgrade your signature ! We can better answer your questions when we know what you use (version etc)

Can you open the source code and see if in that source it says something like landscape?

search for a string like this

SECTION=section1, LAYOUT=ON, METADATA='0.5^0.5^0.5^0.5', MERGE=OFF, ORIENTATION=PORTRAIT, PAGESIZE=Letter, $

I, too, have had issues re-opening a perfectly fine report in the PDF Layout Painter and not have it look right.

After you first create the report, check the code in the text editor and make sure that it says landscape as Frank suggested. Then reopen and save and check again. If the line is different, the painter is not working correctly and you should open a case. Make sure you take screen prints before and after to document the problem.
