Has anyone been successful using odbc to read an Excel 2003 database? I've defined a range in the database then went to ODBC and selected the Microsoft Excel driver. The "versions" listed are Excel 3.0 through Excel97-2000. Is there a different driver for Excel 2003?

Yes. Your issue reading the data likely has to do with ODBC. When you install a new version of Office (e.g. Office 2003 or 2007),newer ODBC drivers may be installed at the same time. The problem I had when trying to open an Office 2007 Data Source was that the older version (4.00.6304.00) of the Excel ODBC Driver comes up first on the "Create New Data Source" dialog. Try scrolling farther down the list to see if there is a more current Microsoft Excel Driver version. Example, I was able to read data from an Excel 2007 data source, using the "Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls, *.xlsx, *.xlsm, *.xlsb) Version 12.00.4518.1014" driver.

Good luck.
