I have a data source that is a tab-delimited file, so the master file is set up as TABT. Everything works fine for searches just within that file. However, if I try to join that file to another master file, I get the following error messages: (FOC1201) ERROR LOADING MODULE : TABT
(FOC1074) INVALID SUFFIX : TABT

It appears from reading Help that you cannot join a tab-delimited or a comma delimited file???? Is this really correct? Is there any way around this?

Thanks-

If you can read the file ok then you could read in the file and hold it. This does add some additional overhead.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, because of unfortunate way my IS department configured the WebFocus server, hold files don't work for me. Is there another way around this problem?

Can you not do a table file request against the TABT file with-in the focexec and hold that and then join the hod file to the other file all within the same focexec.
