I am joining two different oracle databases, and getting pound signs in excel for the output, when I should be getting "." or a blank row. The data in the original datasource shows as blank, but in the excel file, I wind up with either a number "7310298162357420000" in one column, or a negative number -73047 when these fields should be empty. How do I create a define to look for these empty dates and convert them to blanks or "."?

I have tried expanding the Excel column to see if the date/number shows up but it does not.

What do you see when you show the same output in HTML instead of Excel? What Excel format are you using? Does this happen if you didn't have a Join? Can you reproduce the problem using a sample table so we can look at your code? What version of WebFOCUS are you running? 8.007 is several years old.

Nice questions BabakNYC. More: What is the incoming format of these dates? What are you using to convert / format them to displayable dates?

I'll ask one more.

Are you using FORMAT EXL2K or XLSX for this?

If you can make us up a TABLE FILE CAR example, that would help.

What you have is an invalid date. I see this when user enter valid date but it is prior to what Excel considers a valid date. For example, a user enters a date of birth of 10/15/1019 instead of 10/15/1999.

If the date is null, you can get something similar. In that case try using a ON TABLE SET NODATA '' (that is 2 consecutive quotes, not quote, blank, quote).
