I have a functioning application (inherited from a former developer). I need to add the States to the app to be single or multi selected from the list and added to a "Selected Columns" window.I've created the States window/listbox and the "Add" and "Delete" buttons. What's the best way to load the States/data?

Thanks

not sure what you mean by "loading" the data. Do you have states in a database that can be added using a dynamic lookup? You can also write a procedure that retrieves and sorts states and tie that procedure to your parameter and control.

Unless you only want to show states that are used in your data, states is one of the parameters that we just populate statically - i.e. it is coded as part of the HTML launch pages. The value list almost never changes so no need to constantly be going back and reading data to get the list.

Yes, it is a static list to be coded as part of the HTML launch pages.

So what is the question? If it's a static list to be coded as part of the html launch page, then it needs to be in the .htm file that runs the fex.

<select size="2" name="STATE">
<option value="AL">Alabama</option>
<option value="AK">Alaska"</option>
<option value="AZ">Arizona"</option>
</select>
