[CASE-OPENED]EXL2K to EXL07 Issue - Formula in Column

Hi,

I am struggling with an issue due to the conversion of code from EXL2K format to EXL07 format. The issue is that in some of my reports when the format is changed to EXL07, the column is then changed to a formula and doesn't evaluate correctly. When you compare the column to the pdf version or a version with EXL2K of the same report then it applies a formula to the cell. I know in some cases these columns are generate from a COMPUTE with a LAST statement.

Has anyone else seen this issue(s) and how did you work around it? Thanks for the help!

WillMyers,

Welcome to Focal Point!

While we wait for others to reply to your question can you let us know where this excel report is being run - from AppStudio, InfoAssist?

Do you get the same results if you run the report directly off the Reporting Server?

What version of Excel are you using?

On IBI Techsupport Center there is an advisory about EXL2K files not opening after applying Microsoft Security Patch MS16-088. This is something to look into, although may not be related to your issue.

The following links may be of help as well:
Excel Tech Memo

WebFOCUS EXL07/XLSX Format Supported Features Release Roadmap

I did try a simple example of a computed field with the last command and ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX and EXL2K but did not see any issues.

If you continue to have this issue especially after running off the Reporting Server then opening a case might be the best option. You can open a case at the same site as above or call in 1-800-736-6130 and we can open the case for you.

Thank you for participating in the Focal Point Forum.

Kind Regards,

Tamra,

Thanks for answering! Sounds like I may need to open a case. We are running the reports directly off the Report Server and the advisory was what prompted our switch from EXL2K to EXL07. We have 70+ reports and the vast majority are having no issue with the change in format however we have 15% that we are seeing this issue with columns that are being filled with formula that evaluate differently even some difference between 7.7.05 & 7.7.06M.
