Using WebFocus 7.6.4 connection to Oracle Databases.

Experiencing decrease in response time when developing and testing reports.
I can develop a simple report, execute, and I get the results back within 10 seconds. I can then edit the file to make a simple update such as modifing a header, column heading etc. and immediatly execute the report and it may take 1-2 minutes before I get the results.

This also happens when I run a report, getting the results back within 10 seconds and immediatly running the same report and it takes upto 1-2 minutes for the results to be returned.

Any suggestions on what to check, or where to look to determine and fix what's going on?

Thanks

Hi jeff

there is too many reasonss related to this, may be your machine performance, network issue or RDBMS issue. but it is strange thing to the same Fex running first time within seconds then it taks minutes in second time, if you got licensed of resources analyzer in your WF-reporting server try to use it and take a look
of your resources status.

The simplest thing is to have the 'monitor agents' screen up when running the requests. That can show you if you need to look at the webfocus server or at oracle. If the cpu time of the agent increases, even if it increases just a little bit every refresh, then take a closer look at the webfocus server. If the cpu time consumed does not increase at all, then Oracle is the culprit.
