I'm working with a BW query and want to filter on one of the Query Variables. I can drag the variable to the Filter box and then select Values - Fetch All Values from Source. When the Data Value list returns it is limited to a subset of the available values (5000) from the original BW query. I need to see all possible data values. Is there a setting somewhere to specify select all?

Thanks
Eddie

Hi Eddie,

The data value list limit of 5000 is currently in programming as a New Feature Request to be increased. In the meantime, here are several work arounds which may work in your environment.

One way to filter the distinct values is to use a view of the original datasource instead of the actual data using the view to lower the overall records the user would access.

Another is to use DBA which might restrict the data for certain users or group of users.

A DEFINE field or a FILTER File might also be used, but this would leave the initial field intact and selectable by users so they would not be the most desirable options but are valid.

Cheers!

Kathryn
