I am trying to put the week number of the current year using &YYMD.
I am using the following but no luck so far

-SET &TODAY = DATECVT(&YYMD , 'I8YYMD' , 'YYMD');
-SET &WEEK = HPART(&TODAY.EVAL, 'WEEK', 'A2');

As you are using &YYMD, how about trying one of the legacy routines.

.. or if your requirement is to use the Date-Time function HPART, then create the current date in Date-Time format.

Something like:
-SET &TODAY = HGETC(10, 'HYYMDm');
-SET &WEEK  = HPART(&TODAY, 'WEEK', 'I2');
-TYPE Week: &WEEK

Giving today: 
Week: 5

I looked at those but they give the actual Day such as MON or Monday
