Hi.

Is there a way to enforce MSSQL adapter to not use UNICODE format in queries? We have WF Reporting Server on Unix environment, version 8.2.03.

Right now in fex there is: WHERE Name EQ 'Star';

The query looks like this: WHERE Name = N'Star'
but I want it to be like this: WHERE Name = 'Star'

If your connection is JDBC add sendStringParametersAsUnicode=false to the URL.

Yes we have JDBC and tried to add sendStringParametersAsUnicode=false, but it still generates a query with N'string' values.

Well that's unfortunate. You might want to start looking at your DB collation and the JVM encoding and DB encoding. All of those will have some impact on if that parameter will be ignored.

In my case, the DB is set to ASCII and not UNICODE. To that end, I was generating a crap load of deadlocks on DB writes. The parameter fixed my problem write up.

Which SQL Server adapter are you using? ODBC or OLEDB?
What version of SQL Server are you using?

Adapter MS SQL Server JDBC (because system is running on Linux), but we have also ODBC on our test version. Same issue there.
We plan to move the production also to ODBC as soon as possible.
SQL Server version = SQL Server 2008 R2
DB collation = Latin1_General_100_CI_AS
DB encoding = 1252
Codepage = Latin1

JVM encoding is utf-8

Have you opened a case with IB tech support? They should be able to tell you exactly what to do.
