Hi all,

I created the users&groups in BI portal and set up the rules.

Upon requests, I will need to change the name of one user. When i right clicked, there is an option called "edit user".

Do you think user can still access the reports and folders they created or remain the same rules after i modify his unsername?

thank you.

Changing the User Name shouldn't cause any security problems - changing the User Id might.

Thanks Francis.

When i right clicked "Edit", i only saw "User Name", "Description", "Email Address" and "Status" "Set Password".

what you meant is i can change user name without causing any changes for this user.

Thank you again.

Ajen,

Thats correct you can change all of those fields with no impact to security. There are IDs in the Security table that handles the relationships between users / roles / groups etc. One thing I will point out though, if you are using an external authorization (LDAP for example), the name will most likely be overwritten back to what is captured in the source system. If that is the case, you will want to go back to what is updating the information. If you are using internal authentication then there are no issues and change away.
