I have just installed WebFOCUS 716 using IIS and TomCat on a Windows platform. After running the client auto verification tool it shows fail under teh Web Server description WebFOCUS CGI/ISAPI alias (/cgi-bin/ibi_cgi) When ones select the possibilities it displays an error 401 Unauthorised Please specofy valid credentials. When does one enter the valid credentials

Hi Adolf,

WebFOCUS is slowly moving towards only using Servlet and the CGI will eventually (? put me right here if I'm wrong) be defunct.

Try setting the Client Path in Utilities / Client Selection on the Client Server Console to /ibi_apps/WFServlet.

CGI aside, in what security mode are you running your Reporting Server?

Just for information purposes, my current client is running the MR Realm driver using AD authorisation / authentication and when I run the Client Auto Verification tool using my userid (which is set-up as administrator) I also get the same message.

However it is not a problem in our case so that may be the case for you as well.

Try the Selective Verification for WebFOCUS Client and WebFOCUS Reporting. You will be given a screen to enter your security details for the test. You should still find that you receive the same failures on the Client as you received during the Automatic Verification.

Can you run the carinst file OK? If you can then I wouldn't be too concerned.

With Security On.

There is a prompt to enter the User Id and password and the car file work OK
