i need to generate a sample bar graph, the x -axis is months(i.e;jan feb mar apr......dec) and y axis is sales(say 10k 20k 30k 40k .......90k),now my question is i want to display the graph in such a way that all three years i.e;2007,2008,2009 are to be seen in the same graph.need to know the approach or setting to be done to include the three years.

if i run for a single year then its straight forward but for including three years whats the approach....

i guess its not difficult....

In the Advanced Graph Assistant, you can use the 'Multi-Graph' option for the year. Without testing, I predict you will get 3 bars for each month, one bar for each year.

You can look up multi-graph or merge in the Advanced Graph Assistant documentation.

Kiran,

Just a thought regarding your month sort: consider the following method:

ACROSS (MonthFieldName) AS '' COLUMNS 'JAN' AND 'FEB' ... AND 'DEC'
*OR*
BY (MonthFieldName) AS '' ROWS 'JAN' OVER 'FEB'... OVER 'DEC'

This eliminates the need for an addition NOPRINTed sort field on month, keeps the months in chronilogical order , and ensures that all months are included. Like I said, just a thought.
