Currently our environment allows WebFocus 7.1 to point to only 1 database for all jobs.

Has anyone developed a process to run jobs in different databases?

The standard way of using WebFOCUS would be to run reporting jobs against multiple data bases, depending on the adapters you bought. It seems like you will have to talk to whoever configured your environment.

Hi J. Guarente-Rider,

In my understanding, the database related with ReportCaster is to save the report jobs, schedule, logs, as well as output files (PDF, Excel, etc) sometimes. To obtain data from multiple database, N.Selph's suggestion is a good way to start with. (Many thanks to N.Selph Smiler)

If you need assistance regarding configuring the adapters, you may want to contact Information Builders' Customer Support Services and open a case on this one. We may need to look at details of your environment, i.e. platform, WebFOCUS releases, databases you currently have and adapters to be used, etc. You may either call 1-800-736-6130, or access the online system InfoResponse at any time. Here is a list of information to be ready when you call: http://techsupport.ibi.com/before_you_call.jsp.

Hope this helps. Big Grin

Cheers,

Kerry

If you are running WebFOCUS 71, then logon to the ReportCaster Admin Console,
http://computer:80/rcaster/main/reportcaster.jsp
and under the server configuration -> Data Server tab, click on the server list, select new and add the server you would like to use.
