Hi folks,

I have '|' delimited flat file that includes header row along with some special character in data.

When a master file is created, webfocus generates access file on the top of master file.

Wondering, if I could avoid additional (.acx)file and add all parameters within master file.

ACX File:

SEGNAME=TV_EMP_TEXT,
-* DELIMITER=|,
HEADER=YES,
CDN=COMMAS_DOT, $

And Master file:

FILENAME=TV_EMP_EXTRACT, SUFFIX=DFIX ,
CODEPAGE=65001,
SEGMENT=TV_EMP_EXTRACT, SEGTYPE=S0, $
FIELD=EXTRACT_DATE, ALIAS=EXTRACT_DATE, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10,$
FIELD=EMPLOYEE, ALIAS=EMPLOYEE, USAGE=A8, ACTUAL=A8,$
FIELD=COMPANY_CODE, ALIAS=COMPANY_CODE, USAGE=A4, ACTUAL=A4,$
FIELD= DELIMITER, ALIAS='|', USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1,$

I was able to resolve Delimiter (added last row in master file) but not sure how to add Header = 'Yes' option in master file, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Learner

A master file is to define how the data is organized where the acx file is to define how/where to access the data.
And AFAIK, HEADER=YES is telling FOCUS how to access the data by skipping the first row since it's not a data row.

If FOCUS create .acx and .mas it's for a good reason, you should not attempt to bypass that
