I have a snippet of SQL code captioned below:

quote:

FROM
INST_ASET,
INST_ASET_DESC,
INST_ASET_TYP
WHERE
( INST_ASET_DESC.INST_ASET_UNIQ_ID(+)=INST_ASET.INST_ASET_UNIQ_ID )
AND ( INST_ASET.INST_ASET_TYP_UNIQ_ID=INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_UNIQ_ID(+) )
AND
(
( (INST_ASET.SYS_ACTV_DTTM <= @prompt['Enter Asset As Of Date','D',,Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0)
and INST_ASET.SYS_REPL_DTTM > @prompt('Enter Asset As Of Date','D',,Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0)) )
AND
INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_GRP_ID = '096'
AND
INST_ASET.ASET_ACTV_IND = 'Y'
)
GROUP BY
INST_ASET.ASET_ACTV_IND,
INST_ASET.ASET_ID,
INST_ASET_DESC.ASET_METAVANTE_MGT_CL_CDE_VAL,
INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_GRP_ID
;

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
. . .

[QUOTE]

My question is how will I skip over the large block of WHERE code
to run a single line WHERE statement.

FROM
INST_ASET,
INST_ASET_DESC,
INST_ASET_TYP

-GOTO NEXT

WHERE
( INST_ASET_DESC.INST_ASET_UNIQ_ID(+)=INST_ASET.INST_ASET_UNIQ_ID )
AND ( INST_ASET.INST_ASET_TYP_UNIQ_ID=INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_UNIQ_ID(+) )
AND
(
( (INST_ASET.SYS_ACTV_DTTM <= @prompt['Enter Asset As Of Date','D',,Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0)
and INST_ASET.SYS_REPL_DTTM > @prompt('Enter Asset As Of Date','D',,Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0)) )
AND
INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_GRP_ID = '096'
AND
INST_ASET.ASET_ACTV_IND = 'Y'
)
-NEXT
WHERE INST_ASET.SYS_ACTV_DTTM BETWEEN '20110101' AND '20110102'
GROUP BY
INST_ASET.ASET_ACTV_IND,
INST_ASET.ASET_ID,
INST_ASET_DESC.ASET_METAVANTE_MGT_CL_CDE_VAL,
INST_ASET_TYP.INST_ASET_TYP_GRP_ID
;

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
. . .

The question is:

does a -GOTO BLAH
-BLAH

do the trick, or is there some other syntax to be used in SQL queries?

Thanks!
Roll Eyes

This will work perfectly in SQL passthru in a FEX file.

WF will treat the DM commands in the same manner as it does with regular TABLE FILE.

thanks

DM commands are evaluated first, before TABLE FILE or SQL command, therefore the code between the GOTO and the label, effectively will not exist.

You can see this if you turn on Echo.

-SET &ECHO=ALL;

Waz...
