I've read a lot of posts about how to increment page numbers in a compound report, but is there a way to have a variable that would increment the page number in potential overflow pages?
I know my compound report will be at least 1 and possibly up to 3 pages depending on the overflow (i.e. number of rows returned by the table file reads). There wil be multiple tables in the report, and I can get them to overflow by using relative positioning, but I can't find a way to increment and display the page numbers.

Ted,

Have you tried the inbuilt variable TABPAGENO in the footer?

Instead of using page number is TABLE FILE request, try placing in MASTER PAGELAYOUT. Here is a sample,
PAGELAYOUT=ALL, NAME='Page Master', $
OBJECT=STRING, NAME='text1', TEXT='Page ibi-page-number/ of ibi-total-pages/', POSITION=(6.563 0.625), MARKUP=ON, WRAP=ON, DIMENSION=(1.354 0.625), font='ARIAL', color=RGB(0 0 0), size=10, $

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, and this works fine except that I cannot use PAGELAYOUT=ALL.
Different pages have different header layouts.
