[SOLVED]FORMAT EXL07 FORMULA line max???

We are using "ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL07 FORMULA" for a report. The formulas only work through row 99,999. Same thing happens if we use "ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K FORMULA". Is there a setting that will allow the formulas to work beyond row 99,999??
We are now on v8.0.9
thanks

Perhaps the issue is Excel 2007. Take a look at Microsoft - Excel specifications and limits / Applies To: Excel 2007. For testing purposes, I would verify a manually created spreadsheet with over 99,999 lines with similar formulas as those generated by WebFOCUS...

I don't believe it's an excel issue since the formula is basic and the total number of lines are well within excel's limits. I work with some very large excel files and this output is small and simple in comparison. The spreadsheet is appx 108,000 lines but the formulas stop at line 99,999. It's very odd.

Here's a simple fex that creates a report of 108,100 rows.

-SET &ECHO=OFF;

-* Create the master for table1 ----------------------------------------
APP FI DATAMAST DISK table1.mas
-RUN

-WRITE DATAMAST FILE=TABLE1, SUFFIX=FIX, $
-WRITE DATAMAST SEGNAME=SEG1, SEGTYPE=S0, $
-WRITE DATAMAST FIELD=DIM1  , ALIAS=DIM1  , USAGE=I9, ACTUAL=A9, $
-WRITE DATAMAST FIELD=FIL1  , ALIAS=FIL1  , USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1, $
-WRITE DATAMAST FIELD=MEAS1 , ALIAS=MEAS1 , USAGE=I4, ACTUAL=A4, $
-WRITE DATAMAST FIELD=FIL2  , ALIAS=FIL2  , USAGE=A1, ACTUAL=A1, $
-WRITE DATAMAST FIELD=MEAS2 , ALIAS=MEAS2 , USAGE=I4, ACTUAL=A4, $

-* Create the data file for table1 -------------------------------------
FILEDEF TABLE1 DISK table1.ftm
-RUN

-REPEAT REPEAT_LOOP_A FOR &COUNTER FROM 1 TO 108100
-SET &DIM1  = FPRINT( &COUNTER, 'I9L', 'A9' );
-SET &RNDM1 = FPRINT( RDNORM('I4') * 100, 'I4L', 'A4' );
-SET &RNDM2 = FPRINT( RDNORM('I4') * 100, 'I4L', 'A4' );

-WRITE TABLE1 &DIM1 &RNDM1 &RNDM2
-REPEAT_LOOP_A

-* Create the report ---------------------------------------------------
TABLE FILE TABLE1
SUM
MEAS1
MEAS2
COMPUTE MEAS_TOTAL/D20= MEAS1 + MEAS2;
BY DIM1

ON TABLE PCHOLD AS HREPORT FORMAT EXL07 FORMULA
END
-RUN

WebFOCUS 8.08:

- For EXL2K, the formulas work in all rows.
- For EXL07, the formulas work in all rows.

There is some information in the documentation about a ROWOVERFLOW stylesheet setting that may work. I couldn’t get to the information with the search, so here are the clicks you need to take:
http://infocenter.informationb...om/wf81rel/index.jsp

Select WebFocus Release 8.1 Version 05M / Reporting Language / Creating Reports With WebFocus Language / Choosing a Display Format / Using Excel Display Formats: XLSX, EXL2K, EXL97, EXCEL
Then scroll down that page to: Overcoming the Excel 2007 and 2010 Row Limit Using Overflow Worksheets.
I’ve never used it, but maybe that would meet your needs.

This situation suggests the occurrence of a counter defined, by default, as I5. It could be a line count or a record count. My memory is a bit dim because I have not written much WF in a number of years.
ETA: SET COUNTWIDTH=ON changes definition from I5 to I9.
In regard to the question of why download 100,000 and more rows to Excel, this has been discussed several times on this board. Basically, whatever the client wants.
