I am creating a compound PDF report manually which has a cover page with parameter selection followed by tabular report.

At footer i need to type Page n of n

I have used
  Page<TABPAGENO of<TABLASTPAGE

But i get the total pages wrong.

I searched the forum and i found a solution
What I do to resolve this is to use a variable for the Total Number Of Pages (ex: &TotalPages) instead of TABLASTPAGE and loop through the final report twice, first as ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT PDF and second as ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF with a -SET &TOTALPAGES = IF &LOOPCOUNTER EQ 1 THEN 0 ELSE &FOCNEXTPAGE - 1 after the first pass of the loop.

Is this the only way to do it?.
If i am running the same report twice and if the data is so large wont it take more time to load.
