As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only. Moving forward, myibi is our community platform to learn, share, and collaborate. We have the same Focal Point forum categories in myibi, so you can continue to have all new conversations there. If you need access to myibi, contact us at email@example.com and provide your corporate email address, company, and name.
I have a report that is meant to be targeted to a frame. When I set &WFFMT to HTML or EXCEL the report correctly goes to the frame. When I set it to PDF it incorrrectly opens a new window. Another coworker PDF correctly opens in the frame. Has anyone had this experience? This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Emily McAllister>,

The web server has very little - possible no - control on how PDFs are handled on the client side.
The web page can make suggestions (in this frame or new page) but it's up to the PDF plugin. The plugin can be browser or OS specific in it behaviour and different versions of the plugin or browser may show different results.
As Francis suggests, check you settings (if you are using Acrobat Reader) or try one of the other pdf readers available (if your company policy allows this). Foxit Reader is free (and fast) for windows and xpdf works well in Unix/Linux
