I have a report that is meant to be targeted to a frame. When I set &WFFMT to HTML or EXCEL the report correctly goes to the frame. When I set it to PDF it incorrrectly opens a new window. Another coworker PDF correctly opens in the frame. Has anyone had this experience?

Check your Adobe Acrobat Reader Preferences.

Edit > Preferences > Internet: 'Display PDF in Browser' should be checked.

The web server has very little - possible no - control on how PDFs are handled on the client side.

The web page can make suggestions (in this frame or new page) but it's up to the PDF plugin. The plugin can be browser or OS specific in it behaviour and different versions of the plugin or browser may show different results.

As Francis suggests, check you settings (if you are using Acrobat Reader) or try one of the other pdf readers available (if your company policy allows this). Foxit Reader is free (and fast) for windows and xpdf works well in Unix/Linux

Cheers

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
Have you had any issues using Foxit to browse PDF docs created in WebFOCUS ?
Regards,
