I need to display the selection in the report header. Some of selection items have LessThan Character in them.
When I get the PDF output this character is not getting printed(Strangely the text after this also).
Any ideas on how this can be resolved are appreciated!

This example with "lessthan" character works fine:

-SET &SEL = 'SALES < 10000' ;

DEFINE FILE CAR
  SEL/A40 = '&SEL.EVAL' ;
END

TABLE FILE CAR
  HEADING
    "SELECTION: <SEL "
    " "
  SUM SALES
  BY COUNTRY
  BY CAR
  IF SALES LT 10000
  ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END
-RUN

Regards,
Mikel

Thanks Mikel! This is what I need.
I realised that the define was the key. Can I assume that the variables are interpreted ahead of actual PDF creation?

Yes, we need the DEFINE in this case.

In the following example, including directly &VAR in HEADING, FOCUS interprets XYZ (as per "lessthan" character) as a field and tries to replace it with XYZ field value.

-SET &SEL = 'ABC<XYZ' ;
TABLE FILE
  HEADING
    "&SEL "
...

Regards,
Mikel
