It appears that there is a problem in one of our WF Client environments. The file cgivars.wfs has an error in it that I cannot correct from the Admin Console > Configuration > CLient Settings > General screen.

This error is most likely causing an error in the Developer Studio connection to this environment.

Meanwhile, I'd like to access the Admin Console for the localhost environment installed by Dev Studio. The URL is
http://localhost:8080/ibi_apps/console/webfocusconsole.jsp
When I navigate to this, I get a blank screen - no error, just blank.

Any idea on why this is occurring? The local Apache Tomcat service is running.

Hi Francis,

Total blank screen makes me wonder if it's browser related? Perhaps try a different browser, or if in IE try to toggle compatibility mode on/off? I really don't have a clue if that's it, but with no error and blank screen just makes me wonder if browser may be the issue.

JC, thanks for the suggestion. It may have something to do with authentication - either the Web Component or the WF Client. I'm not sure what to use for the local machine, admin/admin or my Windows credentials.

JC, I am getting somewhere! I turned off authentication and credentials and I can access the console from Chrome. No luck with IE 11.

Good deal! The blank screen really is what triggered the browser thought. If it's working in Chrome I guess no need to bother with IE, but did you by chance toggle compatibility mode there? Again wouldn't use IE if I didn't have to, but if for some strange reason you need to use it that would be about the only thing left to try.

JC,

Yes, turning compatibility mode on makes it work! Thanks a lot. I hadn't done that because the Admin Consoles for the non-localhost environments worked.

Meanwhile, because the \n disappeared from the cgivars.wfs file, I get this error when clicking on Applications within the Data Servers area of the Dev Studio environment:
I imagine a text editor inadvertently removed the \n (new line) or perhaps a tool that was used to copy files from one server to another.
