Looking for most efficient method to build totals. Last 12 months is for sales. Last 5 quarters is for ending stock balances. Will ultimately be used to build an inventory turns report (clients legacy calculation method). For example, running 12 full month total for Sep 2010 would be Oct 2009 sales thru Sep 2010 sales. The source data has multiple transactions per day. I'm thinking I should build monthly totals in a hold file with a date of last day of month and then is there some function to add the last 12 months for each month? Then similar approach for quarters?
