Is there anyway to set onChange event handler into the user's browser so that that it remembers which option of an HTML dropdown list has been chosen, so that when the user comes back to the page, that option is automatically selected again.

Do you mean, when the browser has been closed and a new session/instance of the parameter page has been run?

I think we need to know the environment and circumstances.

Is it an Autoprompt page, user created page, Composer page, something else.

And as mentioned above, each case of coming back to the page.

After Browser close, using the back button, a link to the page, etc.

Waz: Its created in HTML composer in webFOCUS developer studio. We have the same functionality in our current webpage which we have developed in coldFusion. See the example below:

So basically a webpage containing two forms, either of which will replace the contents of the current screen with the relevant webpage depending upon the form submitted. Then relying upon the back button to navogate back to the previous content.

This is standard functionality and not something that has been specifically build in cold fusion. Therefore the same functionality should be available for your page.

If this is not the case then the question is what is happening on your page to prevent it? Only looking through your developed code would provide that answer.

When you click the back button on your browser does it appear that the page is reloading / rerunning? If so look for defaulted values that would change the selections.
