Hi guys,

I'm not quite sure what the best way is to approach this requirement. I have 4 reports that are currently compounded one after another using Document Composer in a flowing manner - one report ends, the other one starts. These report pages share the same header/footer in the Page Master.

I need to make a change so that the last report will appear at the bottom of the last page of Report 3 above the Page Master Footer if space permits (Report 4 can be set at 1 inch fixed height). If there is no space, then it will print at the bottom of the next page.

So, I need it to be fixed but still relative to Report 3... not quite sure how to set that up.

Here's the current code (all flowing):
SET HTMLARCHIVE=ON
COMPOUND LAYOUT PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
UNITS=IN, $
SECTION=section1, LAYOUT=ON, METADATA='0.5^0.5^0.5^0.5^4', MERGE=OFF, ORIENTATION=PORTRAIT, PAGESIZE=Letter, SHOW_GLOBALFILTER=OFF, $

-INCLUDE PAGE_MASTER_OBJECTS

COMPONENT='DfltCmpt1', POSITION=(0 0), DIMENSION=(0 0), $

COMPONENT='report_1', TEXT='report_1', TOC-LEVEL=2, POSITION=(0.500 1.250), DIMENSION=(* *), METADATA='Z-INDEX: 100; POSITION: absolute; WIDTH: 7.5in; HEIGHT: 1in; TOP: 1.5in; LEFT: 0.5in', $

END
SET COMPONENT='DfltCmpt1'
TABLE FILE SYSCOLUM

RELATIVE-TO puts the report right after the end of the previous report. It doesn't stick it on a fixed position at the bottom of the page.

Do you know how to make RELATIVE-TO work with a fixed position?

"the last report will appear at the bottom of the last page of Report 3 above the Page Master Footer if space permits (Report 4 can be set at 1 inch fixed height)"

From the code it looks like the top-margin of Report4 is set as "8.75in". Make it to 0 and see what output you get.

Also, you could play with the master page BOTTOMMARGINs.

If there is enough space on the page, i dont see any reason as to why it should go to next page.
