I'm trying to use PDF layout painter to get several small reports onto one or two pages and it is being very quirky and I have no idea why. I started adding the reports one at a time and running it to see that it works. When I add the third report, the output is like giberish- I suppose its the raw pdf text "%PDF-1.4 6 0 obj << /Length 7 0 R >> stream BT /F1 1 Tf ET 0 g /GS1 gs " is an example.

I say its quirky because then I removed the 3rd object and it was still gibberish output when previously the two reports left had run just fine. Then I removed them all and added just the third one that started the giberish and it works fine all by itself. I have 7 reports in all that I want to add to the layout and various combinations of them have gotten me no closer to figureing out what the problem is. Has anyone seen this before that can give me a tip?

If you are PCHOLDing the report, change it to HOLD and check for errors.

FYI, The gibberish is the raw PDF document.

Well I just figured it out. Since this was my first compound pdf I really had no idea what I was looking for so I stripped it down to the basics and then added things in until it broke. I was including some HTML CSS to hide the scroll bars since these reports were originally developed for an html layout. Once that was removed, it seems to work fine.

Just FYI: I did get a great deal of insight from the IBI documentation found at http://documentation.informati...61crgt/wf761crgt.pdf.

I hope this helps...
