Hello,
We are hoping someone else has also run into this... We recently changed the repository software we use for mainframe reports and are now having problems with some of the old Focus routines that produce multiple reports to one Offline DD statement. The fex in question now would be a pain to split up - is there a way to "set" or allocate multiple Offline DD statements - ie. OFFLINE1, OFFLINE2, etc. and then make minor changes to the fex for each report to use these DD statements?

Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

Hi Linda

In reviewing the documentation it doesn't appear that what you are asking is possible. I would suggest opening a case with techsupport to see if they have a way you can trick it.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

LTaylor, you may be able to achieve this with DYNAM ALLOC or TSO ALLOC.

DYNAM ALLOC DD OFFLINE DS FOCUS.DEMO.OUTPUT1 SHR REUSE

OFFLINE

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY COUNTRY
END

OFFLINE CLOSE

DYNAM ALLOC DD OFFLINE DS FOCUS.DEMO.OUTPUT2 SHR REUSE

OFFLINE

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY CAR
END

OFFLINE CLOSE

DYNAM ALLOC DD OFFLINE DS FOCUS.DEMO.OUTPUT3 SHR REUSE

OFFLINE

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY BODYTYPE
END

OFFLINE CLOSE

I cannot test this on a mainframe... You may need -RUN statements at the appropriate lines (but not if this is run via JCL). Those OFFLINE and OFFLINE CLOSE statements may not be needed.
