I am currently trying to update our test webfoucs server to 7703 from 69. Most everything is the default settings, like the directories for where everything was installed as well as most of the ports.

We are also using tomcat, which i did not install from the wizard during the installation process becuase it is already installed. However, Once i was done installing webfocus server, then the client, I configured tomcat file ibi_apps.xml,ibi_html.xml and ibi_help.xml to the new home/ibi/webfocus77 directory.

for some reason, the directory ibi_apps does not contain any folders. So i don't believe tomcat is able to run properly with nothing in that directory. Im not sure if i installed something incorrectly or what but when i go to the web browser and type the URL :
http://ywebfocus1:8080/ibi_apps/?

it comes up with a 404 not found page...

Has anyone come across this error, or is there something i need to install/reinstall? Any help would be great!

Thank you,
Charles

Charles, I've seen this before. If I remember correctly, the installation put everything as JAR files under webapps or webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF.

Here's some information that may or not be relevant:

I don't run any projects locally - everything is off of the server. After a recent install I had a similar error message and found that the default port, 8080, that IB was using was not correct for our setup. I changed the port number in the configuration within Developer Studio it worked.

actually the directory /home/webfocus/ibi/WebFOCUS77/webapps doesn't exist. Thank you for the replies but I don't think that is the problem

the directory /home/webfocus/ibi/WebFOCUS77 contains the following:

backup -folder
basedir -folder
basedir.bak -folder
logs -folder
ReportCaster -folder
temp -folder
extract.log
gotDirs
Instructions.txt
load.log
migrate.zip
numberZips
os390_inst.sh
readme.html
readme.txt
unx_inst.sh
userPerm.dat

thats it

Thanks

I believe I figured it out. I had to extract the HotFix file into the directory /home/webfocus/ibi/WebFOCUS77/

and that cleared it up and it is now working.
I have tested it thoughly yet but it looks fine.

!!!!If there is anything else related to that i might have missed please let me know! thanks
