[CLOSED] Labeling/Naming Components within procedures
Is there a way to name or label the components in the procedure to something like "Hold_File_1" instead each of the components showing the name of the file that was used in each. For example if i am doing 4 different hold files on table Car, each component will be labeled Car and id like to distinguish between each file before opening it as to which one is Hold file 1, 2, 3,etc.It's really for organizational purposes but it would be helpful.Let me know if you can.

Thanks!

Are you referring to ON TABLE HOLD ?

If so you can use ON TABLE HOLD AS {name}.

If not, can you post example code.

I think it is more about the way DevStudio presents its 'Physical view' of the procedure.
And if that's the case, then I don't think there is any way that you can influence this.
Having said that, if you need the master 4 times you could create copies (car-1, car-2, car-3 ...) and use those in your request at the appropriate places. Although it is not ideal, I think it's the only way .. correct me if I'm wrong.

Just add a comment before each component

-* Step CAR_HOLD1
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY
ON TABLE HOLD AS CAR_HOLD1
END
-* Step CAR_HOLD2
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY
ON TABLE HOLD AS CAR_HOLD2
END
-* Step CAR_HOLD3
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY
ON TABLE HOLD AS CAR_HOLD3
END
-* Step CAR_HOLD4
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY
ON TABLE HOLD AS CAR_HOLD4
END

or you could use a DM label -CAR HOLD1 but that does not display as well and is limited to 12 characters in your release.
