We are using WebFOCUS Workbench (I can't find the version #) and have just migrated to Vista and IE7. Now, when we try to login to WebFOCUS Workbench, the system errors out. It appears to be a Java error, but no specific error message is given. The screen just stays on the login screen, with no graphics. We disabled the Sun Java versions and the Java SSV, and cleared the Java cache. We also tried to install Microsoft VM, and rec'd a msg that said installation was successful, but we can't tell if it truly was successful. None of these actions solved the problem. As of now, we can't access our WebFOCUS Report Programs at all. Is Microsoft VM incompatible w/Vista? Anyone have any suggestions as to how to proceed because we're dead in the water, right now. Thanks!

Your up late working.....

I think Vista and IE7 are a bad start.

Have you check compatibility of your version of DS with IBI.

There is a list in Techsupport, or you could put in a support case

G'Day! I love your country. I was in Sydney for five weeks visiting friends during the Olympics.

Yes, I'm working late. I can't find the version of WebFOCUS Workbench that we're using. Can you tell me how to find it? I looked in Help, but that only gives you the actual Help Topics, not the "About..."

I agree with you on Vista & IE7. We didn't have a choice, the platform was "bestowed" upon us. It sounds like you've provided good suggestions; however, I'm new at this and would need a little more details: how do I get to the list you mentioned in Techsupport, and how would I submit a support case?

Thank you... Smiler

The quickest, simple check is the installed directory, which should be DevStudio7x.

My DS is currently in a state of flux, so I can't look at mine.

The other way is the run a FEX with ? REL or go to the WebFOCUS server console, which will have it in the title. usually is http://localhost:8121/webconsole

As for Techsupport, you need to register, and to do that, you need your site code, and the name used when the site code was given. Your IBI reps should be able to give you this.

Compatibility/Version info is here.

Take a look at the following Technical Memo (last updated May 2008)

WebFOCUS and iWay Software Support Statement for Windows Vista

pay special attention to the required JVM

SUN JDK 1.6 is the minimum required

Also note that only Business, Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Vista are officially supported.

This does not mean that it will not work with the other versions but it does mean that IB support
will be limited as to what help it is able to offer.
